Effects of xiao zheng tang on proliferation and apoptosis of endometric celis in emt model rats

To suty the effects of a preparation of traditional Chinese medicine (Xi-aozhengtang) on the proliferation and apoptosis of endometric cells in endometrosis(EMT) model rats. First, rat endometriosis model was produced. Second, three weeks after the operation, the EMT model rats were randomly dived into 3 groups: 2 expressimental groups and 1 acontrol group. The expreimental groups were poured the Chinese medicine down the throat, 0.5ml and 1.0ml respectively every day for each rat. The control group was reated with 1.0ml H_(2)O for each rats. Third, the changes of the normal and transplanted endometrium were observed. The proliferating cells and apoptotic cells in the endometrium were studied. The marker for proliferation is proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) immunohistochemical staining, while the apoptotic cells were detected by using DNA in situ terminal deoxynucleotidy1 transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick ending labeling (TUNEL). The prliferation index of endometriotic cells was 56.28%+-1.90% in the control gorup, 21.04%+00.78% in the 0.5ml exprerimental group and 21.26%+-0.83% in the 1.0ml group. The apoptotic index was 20.08%+-0.38% in the 0.5ml group, and 20.74%+-0.52% in the 1.0ml group. Few apoptotic cells wer found in the control group. XIaohengtang can inhibit cell proliferation and promote apoptosis in the graft endome-trium.
