Development of intrauterine device

There are many kinds of intrauterine device in use, which have their own characteristics,and all are active intrauterine devices.In recent years,there were no great progress in study on the mechanism of intrauterine devices.While there were many reaserches about safety,clinical effects and side effects.Intrauterine device not only be used in contraception,but also is tried to be gradully used in treatment of gynecological diseases,such as menorrhagia and endometriosis.This article reviewed mechanism of action,clinical effect,safety and other uses of IUP except contraception.
