Abstract
The invention concerns a wavelength-stabilised laser optical transmitter, comprising a laser module (12) consisting of a laser-emitting diode (18) connected to an optical fibre (20) of a photodiode (22) designed to measure the transmitted optical power, and of a thermoelectric cooler (TEC). A first circuit (14) controlling the temperature of the thermoelectric cooler (TEC) comprises a current-inverting switching power supply, consisting of a bridge of transistors associated with a bipolar chopping circuit, which is controlled by an inverse feedback circuit after comparing the laser module temperature control signal to a corresponding setpoint temperature reference signal, thereby reducing to a minimum heat dissipation in the control circuit.
