Endometriosis kadınlarda en sık rastlanılan, pelvik ağrı ve infertiliteye neden olan benign jinekolojik rahatsızlıktır. Erken ve doğru teşhis uygun tedaviyi seçmekte esastır ancak endometriosisin teşhisi halen klinik bir problemdir. Klinik görünüm ve labaratuvar testlerinin teşhisteki doğruluğu düşüktür. Son zamanlarda transvajinal ultrasonografı ve transvajinal renkli doppler ultrasonografınin endometriosis ve endometrioma teşhisinde muhtemelen yararlı araçlar olabileceği ileri sürülmüştür. Bu derlemenin amacı transvajinal ultrasonografı ve transvajinal renkli doppler ultrasonografınin endometriosis teşhisindeki rolü ve önemini tartışmaktır.

Endometriosis is a common benign gynecological disorder in women causing pelvic pain and infertility. Early and correct diagnosis is essential to select an appropriate treatment but the diagnosis of endometriosis is still a clinical problem. The accuracy of clinic presentation and laboratory tests are low in diagnosis. Recently, transvaginal ultrasonography and transvaginal color doppler ultrasonography have been proposed as possible useful tools in the diagnosis of endometriosis and endometrioma. The aim of this review is to discuss the role and significance of transvaginal ultrasonography and transvaginal color doppler ultrasonography in diagnosis of endometriosis.
