An in-depth study of mung bean ring rot symptom

Abstract

Mung bean ring rot symptom is a disease caused by Ascochyta phaseolorum Sacc and affects seriously its production and quality. The biological characters and pesticides control of A. phaseolorum were investigated. The findings showed that czapek medium with inositol, 25°C, pH5 ~ 8, mannitol, corn steep liquor and 35 days of static continuous light were the ideal circumstances for the growth of A. Phaseolourm . 16 fungicides and 5 biolgical fungicides were tested to select optimal fungicide. Score (difenoconazole) was the best; following were Carbendazim and Sprochlomz. The optimum conditions for toxin production were found to be czapek medium with inositol, pH6 ~ 7, 25°C, sucrose as the carbon source and 26 days of static continuous light, respectively. It was thermally stable but photosensitive to different wavelengths, it maintained the majority of activity despite the higher temperature and pressure, which aids in its preservation in nature.
