This paper outlines a planned randomized cohort study designed to evaluate the efficacy of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) for managing pain in women with endometriosis. The research protocol involves randomizing eighty histologically confirmed patients into an intervention group receiving eight weeks of weekly MBSR training and a control group provided with self-help materials. Key outcomes will be assessed using validated questionnaires focusing on pain levels and quality of life, aiming to address the therapeutic resistance often seen with standard hormonal or analgesic treatments. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically investigating non-pharmacological pain management strategies through a structured mindfulness intervention.
