Abstract

Objective To investigate the feasibility of reoperation in patients with recurrent endometriosis,its indication and method of reoperation.Methods Twenty-two cases of recurrent endometriosis for reoperation were reviewed in our hospital.The causes of recurrence,the surgical procedures,the postoperative medical treatment as well as the follow-up information were analyzed.Results All patients underwent reoperation procedures,laparoscopic surgery was used in 12 patients and laparotomy in 7 cases,three cases turned to be laparotomy during operation.The radical operation were performed for 2 cases,half conservative surgery for 7 cases,conservative surgery for 13 cases.Conclusion The first extensive surgery and proper medical postoperative treatment are critical to reduce the recurrent rate.A comprehensive evaluation was made before reoperation procedures combined with clinical symptoms,gynecologicai exams,pelvic imaging and birth demand.Individual therapeutic method should be based on the operative method resecting the lesion as thoroughly as possible.
