Abstract
Objective To study the expression of cyclin E and p27 in adenomyosis and their clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemical S-P method was employed to detect the experession of cyclin E and p27 in adenmyosis group (40 cases) and mormal endometrial tissue group (30 cases, control group).Results Cyclin E expression level was found to be statistically higer in adenomyosis than in noemal tissue (P0.05). Significant difference in p27 exprssion was observed between the adenomyosis group and the control group. The expression level of p27 was found to be higher in the control group than in the adenmyosis group (P0.05). The high expression of cyclin E and the low expression of p27 in uterine leiomyoma were closely related to dysmenorrhea, the infiltration depth of endometriosis, and the size of adenomyoma, but had no relation to menorrhagia.Conclusion As cell cycle regulatory factors, p27 and cyclin E might be invoved in the development of adenomyosis. The synergistic effect of the changes in cyclin E and p27 may promote the develoment of adenomysis and predict patients' poor prognosis.
