Diagnosis of Deep Pelvic Endometriosis with MRI

Deep pelvic endometriosis is defined as an endometriosis lesion penetrating pelvic peritoneum more than 5mm in depth.So far a greater awareness has been paid on the disease,mainly because it is strongly related with pelvic pain and infertility.The preoperative acquisition of imaging features is crucial in order to establish the precise distribution of the deep pelvic endometriosis,which is only means of ensuring complete surgical removal and improving curative rate.In this article,we review the MRI features of the disease published recently.
