Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF)and STAT3 in adenomyosis eutopic and ectopic endometrial tissues and their effect in adenomyosis,in order to investigate the possible molecular mechanism of the pathopoiesis of adenomyosis and provide the oretical evidence that contributes to uncover the new molecular targets of the diagnosis and treatment of adenomyosis. Methods Between January 2006 and August 2009 in the First Clinical Medical College of Shanxi Medical University.Tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry methods were employeed to study the expression of PDGF and STAT3 in adenomyosis specimens and CINⅢ(normal endometrium)specimens. All data were processed by SPSS version 13.0 analysis software. Results The expression of PDGF and STAT3 was sign-ificantly higher in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis than normal endometrium(P 0.05).The expression of PDGF and STAT3 in ectopic endometrium of adenomyosis was correlated(r=0.274).Conclusion The expression of PDGF and STAT3 were higher in the endometrium of adenomyosis samples than normal endometrium, which suggested that PDGF and STAT3 are closely related to the pathopoiesis of human adenomyosis.
