Clinical significance of CA125 in the differenciatial diagnosis of pelvic mass

[Objective] To investigate the effect of CA125 in the differentiatial diagnosis of ovarian mass.[Methods] Electro-chem-iluminescence method was used to detect serum CA125 of 160 cases,which were divided into 4 groups,each including 40 cases:benign leision(except for ovarian endometriosis cyst);inflammatory leision;ovarian endometriosis cyst;epithelial ovarian carcinoma.[Result] ① Benign leision(except for ovarian endometriosis cyst):(35.64±72.32)u/mL,95%CI 12.51～58.77u/mL;② inflammatory leision:(70.15±72.92)u/mL,95%CI 46.83～93.48 u/mL;③ ovarian endometriosis cyst:(113.89±128.17)u/mL,95%CI 72.90～154.88 u/mL;④ epithelial ovarian carcinoma:(820.92±1053.28)u/mL,95%CI 484.06～1157.78 u/mL.There is significant difference between ① and ③,① and ④,② and ④,③ and ④(P 0.05);but no significant difference between ① and ②,② and ③(P 0.05).[Conclusion] The effect of CA125 in the differentiation of ovarian mass is clear.CA125 of epithelial ovarian carcinoma is significantly higher than overian benign leision and inflammatory leision.But we cannot differentiate inflammatory leision from benign leision and ovarian endometriosis cyst.The characteristic of mass can be guessed,which is helpful for treatment,but the clinical characteristics and other examination results should be taken into our minds to give the accurate diagnosis,avoiding mis-diagnosis and mis-treatment.
