Expression and significance of vascular endothelial growth factor and tumor necrosis factor-α in endometriosis

Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and tumor necrosis factor-α in endometriosis.Methods Immunochemical method was used to determine the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and tumor necrosis factor-α in ectopic endometrium with endometriosis and the endometrium of controls.Results The expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and tumor necrosis factorα in endometriosis was significant higher than that of normal endometrium.Conclusion The capacity of endometrium to invade and form new vassels is related to tumor necrosis factor-α and vascular endothelial growth factor.Tumor necrosis factor-α and vascular endothelial growth factor plays an important role in the progression of endometriosis.
