Abstract
Abstract Sensitizers for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) significantly impact the electron-hole pair for conduction to produce photocurrent. In this study, sensitizers from the leaf extract of Epipremnum aureum have been subjected to sensitize the solar cell with ethanol as solvent, and the photoconversion efficiency has been evaluated. Two dyes have been used, viz. The first dye is the natural dye alone, and the second is the cocktail of natural dye (dye from Epipremnum aureum) and synthetic eosin dye. The fabricated solar cells are subjected to UV-Vis, FTIR, XRD, SEM, and J-V characteristics to study the solar cell's performance and the effectiveness of the dye. The photoconversion efficiency of the solar cell with the cocktail of natural and synthetic dye is higher than the cell with natural and synthetic dye alone. It has been found that the cell with a cocktail of dyes has given an efficiency of 0.78%, which is higher than the solar with eosin or natural dye alone.
