Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction: Endometriosis is a pathology characterized by the presence of benign endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. Its incidence in infertile women can reach up to 25%, increasing to 70% in women with chronic pelvic pain. In asymptomatic women the incidence is 1 to 2% Objective: to understand the importance of the early identification of endometriosis and the nursing follow-up of these women. Methodology: this is a bibliographical review work. The present research was based on journals and scientific articles, using the databases Bireme, Lilacs, Scielo and Pubmed and publications of the World Health Organization and Ministry of Health, according to the descriptors. Conclusion: Nursing care aims to reduce complications during treatment, in order to facilitate patient adaptation and recovery, nurses have a significant role in health care, providing the patient with education, guidance and support, helping To alleviate the consequences of endometriosis.
