Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between thrombocytosis and epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC),and to make sure the significance of platelet count(PLT) which be used as a marker for the clinical differential, development and prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer. Methods The different platelet counts of 158 EOC patients who were classified according to pathologic types, stage and differentiation were retrospectively analyzed in the recent decade.EOC detect was combined PLT with CA125,the platelet counts of 63 ovarian endometriosis patients and 81 benign epithelial ovarian tumor patients with the EOC patient were compared. Results The platelet counts of EOC patients were significantly higher than that in control group(P0.05).The platelet counts of advanced stage group were higher than that in the early stage group(P0.05).The platelet counts of poorly differentiated group were higher than that in the well-differentiated group(P0.05).The platelet count was positive correlated with CA125.Combined PLT with CA125 to detect the EOC patients improved the specificity. Conclusion Most of the EOC patients with increased platelet count, which can be a directive significance for the clinical differential, development and prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer. The increased platelet count indicates that blood hypercoagulabale state exists and has great risk of forming thrombus. And anticoagulant and thrombolytic drugs should be used appropriate.
