Abstract
Expert ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have similar accuracy when staging deep endometriosis (DE). This study aimed to assess the interobserver agreement between trainee and experienced examiner(expert) and the learning curve when assessing DE and pelvic adhesions using the evaluation consensus of the International Deep Endometriosis Analysis group (IDEA). This prospective study was conducted at a tertiary gynecologic oncology and endometriosis centre in Prague with a cohort of 35 cases with DE divided into 3 sets. Every patient underwent expert and trainee ultrasound (gynecology resident, 2-year experience) and MRI was read by both expert and trainee (radiology resident, 4-year experience). Experts were both specialists in their respective field with more than 5 years experience. The learning curve was assessed as an improvement of an interobserver agreement (Kappa value) after each set. Table 1. DE staging remains a skill with a long learning curve, exceeding 35-patient caseload.
