Abstract
Objective To study the clinical efficacy of levonorgestrel intrauterine system(mirena) for the treatment of adenomyosis. Methods 120 patients with adenomyosis in our hospital from January 2010 to Januar y 2013 were selected in this study, and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 60 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group were treated with levonorgestrel intrauterine system(mirena), while patients in the control group were treated with mifepristone. The menstruation, uterine conditions and CA125 levels were observed. Results In the observation group, the amount of bleeding was(29.5 ± 4.2) mL, NRS score was 1.7 ± 0.3, endometrial thickness was(4.9 ± 0.8) mm, uterine volume was(217.3 ± 29.8) cm3, and the CA125 levels was(19.3 ± 2.5) μg/L; all the indices were significantly lower than those in the control group(P 0.05). Conclusions Levonorgestrel intrauterine system can help to improve menstruation situation, reduce uterine volume and endometrial thickness, and lower CA125 levels, which has positive value for the treatment of patients with adenomyosis.
