Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the value of transvaginal Color Doppler Energy combined with CA_125 in the differential diagnosis of endometriotic cysts. Method: Transvaginal Color Doppler Energy examination and measurement of CA_125 plasma level were performed in 160 patients with ovarian mass within 7 days before surgery. The ultrasongraphic imprssion and CA_125 value were compared with the histopathologic diagnosis. The overall agreement between the test result and the actual outcome was calculated using the kappa statistic Results:Transvagin al Color Doppler Energy had a strong agreement between test result and pathology, kappa value 0.88,whereas the combined method was associated with a lower kappa value 0.64 .Conclusion: Transvagin al Color Doppler Energy used alone is one of the most cost-effective methods in the preoperative differential .diagnosis of endometriotic cysts.
