Effect of Futongning(妇痛宁)on Experimental Ectopic Endometrium and Normal Endometrium in Rat

The model of endometriosis in rat with transplantation method was established.The rats were divided randomly into treatment group (n=15),model group (n=15) and control group (n=10).The rats in the treatment group were ad- ministrated orally Futongning(FTN) everyday until all the animals in three groups were sacrificed 8 weeks later.The changes of ectopic and normal endometrium with histomorphology and histochemistry were observed.The results dis- played that the lumps of ectopic endometrium in treatment group shrinked and showed atrophy significantly vs.model group (P0.01).Under the light microscope,the ectopic endometrium atrophy and glycogen and RNA in the epider- mic cell reduced obviously (P0.01).The activities of alkaline phosphatase and nonspecific esterase revealed a lowering tendency (P0.05).During the treating period,the normal endometrium and sex cycle of rats did not have any appar- ent change.It showed that FTN could inhibit metabolism of ectopic endometrium and make it atrophy,this was selective in action distinctly.
