Abstract
Abstract Introduction Transgender and Gender Diverse (TGD) people with endometriosis’ sexual health out-comes have been overlooked, and important emotional experiences, such as sexual distress and its correlates, have been ignored, preventing a more comprehensive look at their health experience. Objective This cross-sectional online study explores the associations between experiences of pain symptoms, sexual distress, and mental health of 6 TGD individuals diagnosed with endometriosis in order to understand the specificities of their experiences better. Methods Cross-sectional data collected online via newsgroups of people with endometriosis. Data analysis focus mainly on descriptive Statistics. Results Our results suggest some TGD people who experience diminished pleasure may be experiencing higher pain levels and higher levels of sexual distress than cisgender people and the impact of endometriosis. It also points out that the impact of endometriosis on self-image is associated with sexual distress and that, compared to existing data on cisgender women, they receive a late diagnosis. Conclusions These results suggest that sexual health in the context of endometriosis has specificities and is associated with specific factors that need to be accounted for to provide comprehensive, socially just healthcare. To achieve sexual health equity for TGD people, continuous and updated professional training and inclusive research with multiple informants are necessary. Disclosure No.
