Study on expressin of casepase 3 in endometriosis

ObjectiveTo study of expression of caspase 3 in eutopic and ectopic endometrium of endometriosis and the role on the pathogenesis of this disease.Methods The expression of caspase 3 in 70 cases of endometriosis patients was detected by immunohistochemistry methods.Results Caspase 3 protein was found in all specimens and the expression of caspase 3 in ectopic and eutopic endometrium from patients with endometriosis was 55.18±1.84 and 63.74±2.35,respectively,which was significantly lower than that of normal women endometrium(70.82±2.39)(P0.05).Conclusion Patients with endometriosis women show down regulation of caspase 3 expression in ectopic and eutopic endometrium,the abnormal expression is related to apoptosis.The decrease of apoptosis may play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
