Landscape of Endometriosis RCTs 1990-2024

other OA: green CC0

Abstract

Research into endometriosis has been historically underfunded, resulting in a dearth of strongly evidence based management options. The limited funding of endometriosis demands that resources be directed toward the most effective and impactful scientific practices. To do this, a clear understanding of the current research landscape, especially for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) must be obtained. We aim to characterise the landscape of endometriosis RCTs between 1990-2024 by classifying RCTs based upon theme and primary outcome, investigating population sizes of RCTs over time and minimum detectable effect sizes based upon power at 80 and 90%, proportion of trials which have been registered and country of publication.
