Impact of Pandemic Covid-19 on Behavioral Intentions of University Students Towards Online Education in Pakistan

The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted the traditional pedagogical educational system around the world. The story of Pakistan is also not different from the rest of the world. Pakistan’s higher education institutes were closed for classes due to the outbreak. Some universities started the virtual education system and it is critically important to assess the behavioural intentions of university students towards online education during the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan. This is the first study to investigate the student’s response toward online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. For this purpose, a questionnaire based online survey was conducted to obtain the student's responses from the higher institutions providing online classes during COVID-19. Results were evaluated using multivariate analysis and descriptive statistics. It was observed that there is a significant difference between male and female students concerning the positive consequences of COVID-19 on students. According to the findings, the student’s intentions for online education are more concerned with time-saving for completing the degree program.
