Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of combined laparoscopy and mifepristone in treatment of patients with pelvic endometriosis. Methods One hundred and six patients with endometriosis were treated in this hospital from March,2005 to August,2006,all these patients were randomly divided into simple operation group and combined therapy group containing 54 and 52 patients respectively. In the second group, mifepristone was administered in a dosage of 12.5 mg/d continuously for 3 months in each patient. All patients had been followed up for 3 to 12 months. Results The follow-up rate was 97.17%(103/106).The effective rate of single operation group was 37.04%(20/54),while it was 59.62%(31/52)in combined therapy group. It was much higher in second group than that of first group(P0.05).Elevation of serum level of transaminase was seen in 2 cases in combined therapy group. Conclusion The result of treatment for pelvic endometriosis in combined therapy group is superior to that of simple operation group with less side reactions. It is valuable to be recommended for clinical application.
