Abstract

Objective To examine expression of resistin protein in patients with and without endometriosis. Methods The expression of resistin protein was detected in the normal, ectopic, eutopic endometrial tissues in women with andwithout endometriosis via immunohistochemistry SP method. The different expression was analyzed. Results The expression rate and intensity of resistin was higher in ectopic endometrium of patients with endometriosis than that of in the eutopic endometrium group(P 0.05).However,The expression rate and intensity of resistin of the eutopic endometrium in patients with endometriosis and of that in the endometrium of women without endometriosis was no significant difference(P 0.05).Resistin staining was located in the cytoplasm of endometrial stromal cells. Conclusion The expression of resistin in the ectopic endometrium might play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
