Clinical Observation and Mechanism Study on Stopping Bleeding and Regulating Menses with Anchong Decoction

Objective:To explore the efficacy and mechanism of anchong decoction on profuse menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation based on the treatment principle as benefiting qi,consolidating the Conception Vessel,stopping bleeding and regulating menses.Methods:60 cases of profuse menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation due to spleen and kidney qi deficiency were randomized into two groups.In treatment group(30 cases),anchong decoction was administered.In control group(30 cases),yigong ningxue oral liquid was administered.The improvements in clinical symptoms,follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteotropic hormone(LH),estrogen(E2),progesterone(P),estrogen receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR),endometrial growth factor(EGF),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and 6-keto-PGF1(metabolite of PGI2)/TXB2(metabolite of TXA2)were observed before and after treatment in two groups.Results:The total effective rate was 86.7% in treatment group and was 63.3% in control group,indicating statistical significant difference in comparison(P0.01).After treatment,in treatment group,FSH,EGF and VEGF increased,and ER and PR decreased significantly,indicating statistical significant difference as compared with control group(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion:Anchong decoction is well effective on stopping bleeding and regulating menses and it cures profuse menstrual flow through promoting the growth of uterine endometrial vessel and wound healing.
