Abstract

Objective To study the expression of interleukin-8(IL-8) and CXCR1 in endometriosis. Methods Thirty-eight cases of endometriosis were selected as study group, and 29 cases of non-endometriosis served as control group.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of IL-8 and CXCR1 in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium in endometrium(study group)and in non-endometrium(control group). Results The IL-8 and CXCR1 protein expression was detected in ectopic endometrium. The staining intensity of CXCR1 and IL-8 in endometrium was higher than that in eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium(P0.05).The expression of CXCR1 and IL-8 had no difference in proliferative phase and secretory phase between the ectopic group and the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The abnormal expression of IL-8 is in accordance with CXCR1,and the abnormal expression of IL-8/CXCR1 may be play a very important role in pathogenesis of endometriosis.
