Abstract

Endometriosis is a common disease in women during the reproductive ages. Estimates of the frequency of endometriosis range from 3% to 20% of the white female population and it is certainly the most prominent gynecological entity after uterine fibroids. Present therapeutic modalities for endometriosis include conservative surgery or ovarian suppression with hormones. The use of medical treatments is directed towards achieving ovarian suppression to avoid the steroidal stimulation of ectopic endometrial tissues. Preview Unable to display preview.
