Expression and significance of Bcl-2 in endometriosis

Objective To investigate the expression of B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2(Bcl-2) protein in endometrium of patients with endometriosis and to explore its effect in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.Methods Immunohistochemical assay(SP) was used to detect the expression of Bcl-2 in eutopic and ectopic endometria in 40 patients with endometriosis and 40 cases of normal endometria.Results The expression intensity of Bcl-2 in eutopic and ectopic endometria of patients with endometriosis was significantly higher than that in normal endometria,furthermore,the expression of Bcl-2 in ectopic endometrium was significantly higher than that in eutopic endometrium(P0.05).Conclusion Bcl-2 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
