Abstract
Abstract Background Medical students from all backgrounds should have equitable opportunities of employment. Currently, many specialties utilize a minimum threshold for USMLE Step 1 score when screening applicants for residency interviews. Activity A survey of non-modifiable risk factors and Step 1 exam scores was collected and analyzed. Results and Discussion Study results demonstrated students with Adverse Childhood Experience score (ACEs) had increased odds of not meeting a minimum threshold. Students of Color and students who identified as female had higher odds of ACEs ≥3. The relationship between ACEs and Step 1 score was not significant at the passing threshold.
