Abstract

ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to detect the nm23-H1 gene expression in endometriosis and normal endometrium in order to investigate the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods The expression of nm23-H1 protein in 25 specimens of endometriosis and 22 specimens of controls(normal endometrium) were detected with an approach of immunohistochemistry and the expression of nm23-H1 mRNA in 25 specimens of endometriosis was further assessed with reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results The expression levels of nm23-H1 protein in endometriosis were significantly lower than those in controls(P 0.01),but there were no significant difference in the expression of nm23-H1 protein and mRNA in endometriosis (P0.05) Conclusion The findings expose the pathogenesis importance of nm23-H1 in the development and progress of endometriosis.
