MRI Manifestation of Endometriosis Cysts of the Ovary

Purpose To investigate the MRI features of endometriosis cysts of the ovary. Methods MRI and US findings in 30 cases with endometriosis cysts were retrospectively studied.All were proved by surgery and pathology. Results 30 cases by MRI examination,the rate of positive discovery is 100%(30/30) and the accuracy of qualitative diagnosis is 93 3%(28/30).There were prodominant findings in the MRI:High signal intensity were both T 1WI and T 2WI,there was septation in cysts,fibrointegument was formed at the periphery of cysts,the limit between cyst and neighbouring organs was blurring. Conclusion MRI is a important method in the diagnosis of endometriosis cysts of the ovary. [
