Abstract

Chapter 7 discusses women’s health issues treated by Chinese medicine, and includes premenstrual syndrome (PMS), irregular cycles, polycystic ovarian syndrome, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, vaginal infections, frequent miscarriage, infertility, menopause, and many others. It covers how regular acupuncture and herbal medicine may be needed for many weeks to affect lasting change. Or in some cases, a monthly acupuncture session or herbal formula is adequate. For some women, diet and lifestyle recommendations alone can empower them and restore health.
