Endometriosis is a major cause of disability and significantlycompromised quality of life in women and adolescents. It ischaracterized by the implantation of ectopic endometrialglands outside the uterus. The most common sites ofimplantation are dependant areas of the pelvis, pelvicperitoneum, anterior and posterior cul de sac anduterosacral ligaments, rectovaginal septum, and ureter.Other rare sites include bladder, pericardium, surgical scarsand pleura.
