A diet-stress-diathesis model of homosexuality
preprint

Abstract
This paper aims to contribute with answers to the scientific question of how and why homosexuality develops. It identifies 6 phases of the heterosexual response cycle: spontaneous sexual arousal, attribution to emotional cue, courtship, thrusting/engulfing, orgasm and refractory period. It proposes that a disturbance in the phases of the sexual response may lead to homosexuality. Hormonal and neurotransmitter system imbalances involving testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, dopamine and serotonin, are identified as proximal causes of homosexuality. Diet and stress are identified as ultimate causes of homosexuality in genetically susceptible persons.
