Treatment of benign gynecological diseases with Nd-YAG laser

Abstract

Clinical study with Nd-YAG laser of benign gynecological diseases was performed. Seventeen cases with portio erosion, one case with cervical polyp,polyp from portio vaginalis, cervical myoma, myoma delivery. Eighteen cases with Bartholinian cyst seven cases with condyloma acuminata two cases with pelvic endometoriosis one case with polycystic ovary and one case with ectopic pregnancy were operated under local anesthesia or general anesthesia.In all cases the volume of blood loss was minimum. Period to achieve epithelial repair was 3 to 6 weeks. Complications during and post operation were minimal. The primary cure rates of portio erosion, Bartholinian cyst, condyloma acuminata, cervical polyp and myoma was 70.6%, 100%, 85.7%, 100%respectively. One case of pelvic endometriosis recurrenced after one year from operation. Ovulation was recognized early after procedure in case of polycystic ovary, Nd-YAG laser is considered to be an excellent laser source for the traetment of benign gynecological diseases.
