Environmental Management and Decarbonization Nexus: A Pathway to Energy Sector’s Sustainable Futures

This paper explores the intricate relationship between environmental management and decarbonization, demonstrating how these two areas can be effectively integrated to produce a wide-ranging framework for sustainability. The paper discusses the environmental management and decarbonization nexus towards sustainable futures in the energy sector through the conversion to green technologies, energy efficiency, and carbon capture, storage and utilization (CCSU) innovative technologies and infrastructures. In doing so circular economy principles, low GHGs emissions production processes, and CCSU strategies are emphasized. The outcomes of the paper include identifying actionable steps and policy recommendations that support environmental management and decarbonization nexus in the energy sector. By illustrating the benefits of this nexus, the paper provides insights into how governments, industries, and communities can collaborate to implement decarbonization measures that not only reduce GHGs emissions but also support environmental sustainability and social welfare.
