Expression of nuclear factor-Kappa B and its significance in endometriosis

Objective To determine the nuclear factor-Kappa B (NF-κB) expression in endometriosis and to explore the possible role of NF-κB in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods Expression of NF-κB in normal endometrium、 ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium in endometriosis were detected by immunohistochemistry. The results were analyzed by SPSS11.0 statistical software. Results Expression levels of NF-κB in ectopic and eutopic endometriotic tissues were significantly higher than that in the normal endometrium (P0.01), and the expression changed with the normal menstrual cycle in the three kinds of endometrium. Conclusion The expression of NF-κB in normal endometrium plays a very important role in circle changes of endometrium. It is suggested that stronger expression in patients of endometriosis may relate to the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
