The study assessed the prevalence of incidentally discovered endometriosis in 225 clomiphene-resistant women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who did not report classic endometriosis symptoms, using retrospective cohort data and an added meta-analysis within the same patient population. Laparoscopy detected endometriosis in 16.9% of cases (38/225), with most findings corresponding to rASRM stage I (86.8%). The meta-analysis combining this cohort with four additional studies estimated a lower pooled prevalence of 7.7%. This paper is centrally about endometriosis in a PCOS population undergoing laparoscopic ovarian drilling and therefore directly relates to endometriosis.
