Abstract
Background: The field of handling personal finances has not been left out by the pandemic's rapid developments in society. Personal finances are more affected by job loss, salary reduction, business loss, etc. since there is a significant decrease in income along with unprecedented expenses, particularly for health and hygiene. This made the households cut on the other routine expenses and maintain a trade-off between loss of income and rise in expenditure. Understanding the changes in personal finance brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic by considering factors like saving, spending, tax planning, retirement planning, and financial security is vital given that this new normal is beginning to take hold around the globe. Objectives: This study seeks to identify the current research gaps by analysing the body of existing personal finance literature.Methodology: The existing literature on personal finance practices was collected from international and national journals. To comprehend the most, moderate, and least investigated variables linked to personal finance, as well as to perceive the disruption of personal finances during pandemic and pre-pandemic conditions, the collected research articles were examined, assembled, and presented in the form of a table.
