A Critique of the Legal Framework for Domestic Violence in the Light of Coronavirus Pandemic

Unquestionably, the coronavirus pandemic has emitted a cataclysmic upshot in the world. For that, he strives to profoundly examine the ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005’ (PWDVA), and simultaneously underscores the utilitarian provisions that can be of assistance to the aggrieved women at such time as this. But at the same time, he attempts to discourse the rationale behind its ineffectual outcomes for some women who struggled even to file a complaint and how it can affect the aggrieved ones in this pandemic. The author then remarks upon the watershed judicial precedents and expounds their role in overhauling the fissures of the PWDVA. The author also contextually deliberates upon those judgments – how can they harness the current circumstance of the pandemic in stopping the severity of the same.
