Abstract

Objective:To explore whether a correlation exists between the pelvic pain, related to endometriosis and angiogenesis. Methods: the patients were divided into A,B groups according to the degree of pain.group A,asymptomatic patients or patients presenting mild dysmenorrheal;and group B,moderate/severe dysmenorrheal,we detected the amount of blood flow around the endometrial cysts, pulsatility and resistance indexes by Doppler ultrasound and microvessel density(MVD).Results:Moderately or highly vascularized endometrial cysts were more frequent in group B(P 0.05).The PI and RI were significantly lower in group B (P0.05).The mean MVD was significantly higher in group B(P 0.05).Conclusion: pelvic pain related to endometriosis is correlated with angiogenesis.
