INHIBITION OF PROSTGLANDIN E2 RECEPTORS FOR THE TREATMENT OF ENDOMETRIOSIS
OA: closed
Abstract
The present invention describes the selective inhibition of prostaglandin receptors (PGE2), e.g., EP2 and EP4, by one or more inhibitors are selected from 6-Isopropoxy-9-oxoxanthene-2-carboxylic acid and (4Z)-7-[(rel- l S,2S,5R)-5-((l,l '-Biphenyl-4-yl)methoxy)-2-(4-morpholinyl)-3-oxocyclopentyl]- 4-heptenoic acid and salts thereof as a potential therapeutic tool or to expand the spectrum of currently available treatment options for endometriosis and other chronic gynecological diseases in reproductive age women. PGE2 inhibition through novel cell signaling mechanisms identified by the present invention provides an effective and attractive therapeutic tool for treatment without compromising pregnancy and sex life in the women.
