Abstract

Adenomyosis( AM) is a common gynecopathy, but its pathogenesis is not clear,so far there is no ideal treatment method. The main treatment methods include drug therapy, surgical treatment and intervention therapy. Commonly used drug treatment includes androgen derivatives,gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist, progesterone receptor antagonist, progesterone, contraceptives, aromatase inhibitors( AIs),traditional Chinese medicine, etc. Surgical treatment mainly includes conservative surgery and radical surgery. Interventional therapy mainly includes uterine artery embolization, the abdominal ultrasound guided percutaneous puncture microwave coagulation therapy, focused ultrasound and radiofrequency ablation, etc. Each treatment has its advantages and disadvantages,in recent years, drug therapy, minimally invasive treatment have made great research progress so as to provide more choices of treatment for AM,but hysterectomy still remains the only option of radical treatment for AM.
