Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between the pathogenesis of endometriosis and the secretions of interleukin-1alpha(IL-1α),interleukin-1beta(IL-1β)and interferon-gamma(IFN-γ)in peritoneal fluid macrophage and peripheral blood monocyte in patients with endometriosis. Methods:Forty women with histopathological diagnosed endometriosis after operation were selected as endometriosis group and 30 women with leiomyoma or benign ovarian tumor were selected as the control group.Peritoneal fluid macrophage and peripheral blood monocyte were isolated and cultured. The concentrations of IL-1α,IL-1β and IFN-γ in culture media were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results:The concentrations of IL-1α and IL-1β secreted by monocyte and macrophage in endometriosis were significantly higher than those in control group. There was no significant difference between the concentrations of IL-1α and IL-1β and endomertriosis stage and the menstrual cycle phase. There was no significant difference in concentration of IFN-γ between two groups. Conclusion:The increasing level of IL-1 and deficiency of IFN-γ in patients with endometriosis may play a role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
