Design: For this, a case-control study wasconducted. Participants : A total of 533selected mothers who delivered babies from January to December 2024 in all East Bale and Bale zone hospitals. Main Outcome: To identify significant factors for preterm births. Results: Out of the total 533 mothers who participated in this study, 91 (17.1%) of were experienced preterm birth. The risk factors age, residence place, ANC, preterm history, HTN, gestational HTN, gestational DM, CVD, UTI, PROM, pregnancy type, child weight, birth outcomes, and pre-eclampsia was significantly associated to the preterm birth status. Conclusions : Being from the pastoralist communities, having he previous preterm history and gestational diabetes mellitus were highly associated to the existence of prematurity.
