The study examined genital tract microbiocenosis and local immunological homeostasis in 308 reproductive-age women with uterine leiomyoma, comparing them with 30 healthy controls using microbiologic assessment and evaluation of cervical mucus immune factors, including immunoglobulins and neutrophil phagocytic function. Local immune activation was reflected by increased cervical mucus IgG and IgA and IgM presence in 27.5–32.5% of women, while neutrophil granulocyte phagocytic activity and functional reserve were suppressed, suggesting potential intracellular persistence of infection and persistence of inflammation.
