Abstract
Abstract The paper contains a solution to the Riemann problem for the generalized Chaplygin gas with a general source term defined by the Cargo-LeRoux potential. Beside the classical waves (rarefaction waves, shocks, and contact discontinuities) we have used the shadow waves coupled with the rarefaction ones to completely solve the above problem.
