Abstract
Objective To assess the value of serum(carbohydrate autigea-125,CA125) in evaluating the stage of endometriotic cyst of ovary and predicting the pregnancy after surgery. Methods 148 patients who were undergoing conservative surgery and then diagnosed as endometriotic cyst of ovary were analyzed. All of them were fertile and wanted to have babies.Preoperative serum CA125 levels were compared in their different stages of endometriosis and the pregnancy within one year after surgery. Results All of the 148 cases, the serum CA125 level increased along with the raising up of stage. The serum CA125 level in stage Ⅳ was higher than that in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ(P0.05).Consequently,serum CA125 level in stage Ⅲ was higher than that in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ(P0.05).There was a positive correlation between serum CA125 level and stage(r=0.980,P0.05).If the patients in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ or IV,were pregnant within one year after surgery, their preoperative serum CA125 levels were remarkably lower than those without pregnancy, and the difference had statistical significance(P0.05).Furthermore,There was a negative correlation between serum CA125 and pregnancy rate within one year after surgery(r=-0.85,P0.05).Conclusion Serum CA125 levels play an important role in evaluating the stage of endometriotic cyst of ovary and predicting the pregnancy after surgery.
