Efficacy of Guizhi Fuling Capsule for Dysmenorrhea and Its Effects on C-reactive Protein and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor:Clinical Observation

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy of Guizhi Fuling Capsule for dysmenorrhea associated with endometriosis and its effects on serum levels of high sensitivity c reactive protein(hs-CRP) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) so as to provide theoretic support for clinical practice.METHODS: A total of 210 patients with dysmenorrhea associated with endometriosis in our hospital were assigned to either control group or trial group according to their admission order(of 105 cases each): the control group received routine therapy while the trial group received add-on Guizhi Fuling Capsule.The curative efficacy of two groups and the serum levels of hs-CRP and VEGF before and after treatment were recorded.RESULTS: As compared with the control group,the trial group showed better efficacy and significantly lower levels of hs-CRP and VEGF in serum after treatment.CONCLUSION: Guizhi Fuling Capsule added to routine therapy had robust efficacy for dysmenorrhea associated with endometriosis and it could effectively adjust serum levels of hs-CRP and VEGF,thus the therapy is worthy of being recommended in clinical practice.
